Summit Pump, Inc. is a privately owned OEM pump manufacturer founded in 1982 and headquartered in Green Bay, WI. We market our products worldwide solely via an exclusive and dedicated distributor network. Our wide selection of product lines encompass pulp and paper, chemical, gas and oil, waste water municipal and additional markets. Due to continued rapid growth we are seeking an Application Engineer to join our team in Green Bay. The Application Engineer will provide engineering technical support and troubleshooting to our authorized Distribution Network, RSMs (Regional Sales Managers), Sales, Inspection and Production Teams. This individual will thoroughly review customer RFQs and specifications, prepare proposal packages, size and select equipment, material selection, design review, failure analysis and lead time information. This includes alternatives to meet or exceed customer’s applications and to maximize reliability and cost efficiency.

  • High competency with computers and associated programs: including: MS Office, especially WORD and Excel, Pumpflo and selection programs, AutoCAD, or other drafting tools
  • Develops and retains product and application knowledge for continued career growth
  • Experience with inventory databases (Traverse or equivalent ERP software)
  • Exhibit ability to work autonomously
  • Knowledge of applicable industry specifications such as ANSI B73.1 and Hydraulic Institute
  • Knowledge /experience with other ASME/ ASM / API /PIP / HI/ ANSI and IEEE specifications as needed
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the industry best practices methods, materials, operations and repairs
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles including fundamentals of fluid mechanics, pump curve analysis, design, materials, and factory processes
  • Working knowledge of LEAN / Kaizen – Deming principles / SPC / QA-QC / 6 Sigma / System One / ISO / Continuous Improvement
